St. Louis County Library (SLCL) and St. Louis Public Library (SLPL) are hosting a free conference for entrepreneurs and small business owners. The Small Business & Nonprofit Conference will take place during October 1-4, 2024. The conference offers four days of in-person and virtual networking and education on a variety of business-critical skills and strategies. Sessions will take place at the Clark Family Branch (1640 S. Lindbergh Blvd.), Central Library (1301 Olive St.) and virtually via Zoom. The conference is free, but registration is required. St. Louis County Library will host the annual Little Readers Festival on Saturday, September 28 from 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at the Florissant Valley Branch (195 New Florissant Rd. S.) The event will feature activities, shaved ice, free books, performances by Ms. Libby, story time with Bruce the Bear, visits from mascots Fredbird and Louie, and more. The Festival is recommended for families with children ages 0-5. Overflow parking available at Bangert Park (275 S. New Florissant Rd). St. Louis County Library Foundation’s Favorite Author Series and The Novel Neighbor are  pleased to host bestselling mystery author Martin Walker for a signing and discussion of “A Grave in the Woods,” the latest installment in his beloved Bruno, Chief of Police series.
