After World War II, survivors of the Holocaust published books in memory of destroyed Jewish communities in Europe. These published memorials, called Yizkor books, include photos, maps, memoirs, testimonies, histories and lists of Jews who were killed in the Holocaust. Most are written in Hebrew or Yidish.

Translations of some Yizkor books in the library’s collection are available on the JewishGen website.
