St. Louis County Library will offer Pickleball Kits for check out starting May 15. Anyone with a valid SLCL card can check out a kit. Each kit contains a set of 4 graphite pickleball paddles, 4 balls (two for indoor and two for outdoor play), and a carrying case. The kits can be checked out for 21 days at any SLCL branch.

Pickleball is played on a court similar in size to a doubles badminton court. The game is played with a paddle and a plastic ball with holes, and is similar to tennis, badminton, and ping-pong.

Pickleball has gained popularity in recent years due to its accessibility and ease of learning, making it a popular game for players of all ages and skill levels. Earlier this year it was announced that St. Louis would be getting a Major League Pickleball Team, the St. Louis Shock. A list of courts and other information about Pickleball in St. Louis is available at www.stlouispickleball.com/locations

SLCL offers a variety of items for check-out in addition to books, music and movies. Patrons can use their library card to check out disc golf kits, fishing equipment, portable projectors, fort building kits, blood pressure kits, musical instruments, telescopes, Chromebooks & Hotspot kits and more.

For additional information on the fishing equipment, please contact St. Louis County Library at 314-994-3300 or www.slcl.org.
