The Eureka Hills Branch of the St. Louis County Library will host an After Hours Family Campout on Friday, August 23, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. This free event will feature hands-on experiences celebrating the great outdoors including interactive exhibits from local organizations, visits with animals, a performance from Celia Rocks, refreshments, a scavenger hunt, selfie stations, and more! The Eureka Hills Branch is located at 500 Workman Rd. in Eureka, MO. The event is free and open to the public, registration is not required. 

During the event, attendees can learn about outdoor related items that can be checked out at the library, including telescopes, binoculars, pickleball kits, disc golf kits, portable projects, and more. Books and other educational materials on outdoor related topics will also be available. 

A variety of exhibitors will be on hand with information and other fun activities including the Alpine Shop, Endangered Wolf Center, Eureka Parks and Recreation, KOA, Missouri Department of Conservation, Missouri State Parks, and the St. Louis Astronomical Society.

Culver’s will provide free scoops of ice cream, while supplies last. Camping treats including popcorn and s’mores in a bag will also be provided.

After Hours Family Campout Schedule of events:

6:00-8:00 p.m.–Exhibits:

  • Alpine Shop–information about outdoor activities. 
  • Endangered Wolf Center–tactile biofacts and information about wolves and foxes. 
  • Eureka Parks and Recreation–yard games, crafts and giveaways. 
  • KOA–campground information.
  • Missouri Department of Conservation–information table.
  • Missouri State Parks–information table.
  • St. Louis Astronomical Society–telescope and binocular instruction.
  • Wildlife Command Center–hands-on educational encounters with animals.

6:00-8:00 p.m.–Library Activities:

  • Crafts 
  • Scavenger Hunt
  • Imaginative play experiences–campsite and park ranger 
  • Bubbles & Sidewalk Chalk
  • Photo and selfie stations

7:00 p.m.–Celia's Sing Along Dance Party
