Presented by Sharon Person and sponsored by the St. Louis Genealogical Society
The 1766 census of the population of Louisiana was ordered by the new Spanish governor in New Orleans, Antonio de Ulloa. The St. Louis that emerges from the analysis of the census households is a very French-Illinois country village. The stories of five widows, all heads of households on that early census, bring this French character to light.
Adults. No registration required for in person attendance at the Clark Family Branch. Register for virtual attendance through the St. Louis Genealogical Society at https://stlgs.org/events/meetings/monthly-meeting.
