Oral History Kits

Everyone has a history with stories to tell and share. Let us help document your friends and families!

Oral History Kits contain a portable recorder and lavalier mic, as well as a memory card and adapter. There is also a folder with instructions and resources for conducting oral history interviews.

 

Reserving an Oral History Kit

  • Can be reserved up to a year in advance at slcl.myturn.com 
  • Can be reserved by calling the History & Genealogy Department at 314-994-3300, ext. 5
  • A valid library card is required to check out an oral history kit
  • Kits are checked out for up to 3 weeks and are not renewable
  • One kit may be checked out at one time
  • Can be picked up when available at your preferred branch

 

Returning Kits

Oral History Kits should be returned at the service desk inside any of our branches. Please do not place these in the outside book drops.

 

Loan Period: 21 Days – Not Renewable
