Social workers are available at six branches to provide free one-on-one advising and assistance to connect patrons with vital resources and referrals to service providers in the community. In addition to the branches listed below, social worker services may be accessed and provided at any St. Louis County Library location.  Assistance on a wide range of topics is available, including, but not limited to:

  • Childcare
  • Housing insecurity
  • Food insecurity
  • Medical assistance
  • Domestic violence
  • Mental health
  • Parenting resources
  • Senior resources
  • Substance abuse

Social workers are at participating branches Monday through Thursday from 9:00 a.m.-7:00 p.m. and limited hours on select Saturdays. You may request an appointment online or by calling 314-994-3300. Drop-ins are welcome as well, though availability may vary. Inquiries submitted through the form or left on voicemail will receive a response within two business days.

The program is funded in part through a grant from the Children’s Service Fund (CSF). Additional support for the program comes from the Berges Family Foundation, Incarnate Word Foundation, and the St. Louis County Library Foundation.
