Friends of the St. Louis County Library Foundation Volunteers

Volunteers play a vital role in the St. Louis County Library Foundation. By donating your time, talent and skills, you can support and enhance the Foundation's programs, services and mission. Members of the Library Foundation’s Friends organization are welcome to volunteer at the Foundation’s author programs and special events.

Volunteers may:

  • Promote Friends memberships at special events

  • Supervise registration and assist with other aspects of Foundation author receptions

  • Greet attendees at public presentations

  • Assist with seating and crowd flow at large programs

  • Encourage email sign-up at events

  • Help stock and manage the Foundation Store

  • Assist with book sorting and sales at the Library’s Annual Used Book Sale

  • Help with Foundation mailings and marketing

The majority of volunteer hours will be served at Library Headquarters (1640 S. Lindbergh, across form Plaza Frontenac), although volunteers may travel to Library branches for other special events. Generally, volunteers will be asked to donate a maximum of ten hours a month.

For more information on becoming a volunteer, please call (314) 994-3300 or email volunteer@slcl.org. If you're ready to volunteer, please complete an application and return to 1640 S. Lindbergh Blvd. St. Louis, MO 63131.

Enlightened communities create & value great libraries. Great libraries strengthen communities.
