Highway construction update: Planning to visit Special Collections? Please be aware that Highway 40 / I-64, which has been closed since January 2008, will re-open on Dec. 15, 2008 between I-170 and Ballas Road. Simultaneously, the route will close between Kingshighway Blvd. and I-170 and re-open in December 2009. Construction updates are available at www.thenewi64.org.

 

Hours

 

The Special Collections Department is open the same hours as the Headquarters facility where it is located on the Tier 5.

  • Monday-Thursday: 9:00 A.M. – 9:00 P.M.

  • Friday-Saturday: 9:00 A.M. – 5:00 P.M.

    • Sunday*: Open 1:00 P.M. - 5:00 P.M. during the school year, closed during the summer months,
            *Headquarters, Daniel Boone, Florissant Valley, and Tesson Ferry Branches only

    • Closed: New Year's Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, President's Day, Easter Sunday, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Friday after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve and Day.

  • Check the library's homepage to see if there are early closings.

Location

The department is located on Tier 5 of St. Louis County Library's Headquarters at 1640 South Lindbergh Blvd, which is directly across the street from Plaza Frontenac Shopping Center. The library's system map of the St. Louis area and a map showing the specific location of Headquarters will guide you to that facility. For those not viewing graphics, Headquarters is located on Lindbergh Blvd. south of Highway 40 and north of Manchester Rd.

Before coming to Special Collections, please review the department's security policy and find out the location of lockers where personal belongings may be stored.
