Geographical List of Southern Claims Commission Claimants

To carry out this strategy, the researcher must determine who in a neighborhood filed claims. That task is made easier by a printed list of claimants, previously only available on the National Archives micropublication M87 - roll 13, Records of the Commissioners of Claims (Southern Claims Commission), 1871-1880. The list is organized by state, county, and then name of claimant.

This geographical list has been scanned in its entirety into PDF format to make it more readily available to researchers, and is available through the links on this web page.

Viewing Files
The size of each PDF file is listed in Kb to assist the researcher in estimating download time. Adobe® Acrobat® Reader®, a free software program, is needed to view these files.
