Ordering LDS Microfilm

Special Collections Department of St. Louis County Library is an authorized branch of the Family History Library in Salt Lake City, Utah. This means that the more than 2 million rolls of microfilm available through the LDS Family History Library in Salt Lake City can now be ordered by patrons here in the Special Collections Department. Please keep in mind the following:

Film must be ordered in person and paid for at the time the order is placed.

Patrons will be notified when their film arrives.

Film must be used here in the library.

A St. Louis County Library card is not required to order LDS film.

Determining Correct Film Numbers
Patrons can determine the correct film number(s) to order by visiting the Family History Library's web site, www.familysearch.org, and using its online Family History Library Catalog.

What Can and Cannot be Ordered through Special Collections
Only LDS microfilms and microfiche may be ordered here in Special Collections. The Family History Library's holdings of books (in paper format) cannot be ordered through Special Collections. However, many books are also available in microfilm or microfiche format, and some have been digitized online, so be sure to check all possibilities in the catalog.

Fees & Renewals
Patrons pay $6.00 shipping and mailing costs to borrow a roll of film for 1 month. Films may be renewed twice. Each renewal is for an additional month at a cost of $5.50 per renewal. Patrons have an option of keeping the film here permanently after two renewals. Microfiche costs 15¢ and is kept here on permanent loan.
