between I-170 and Ballas Road, closed during 2008,
is now open. Currently, Highway 40 / I-64 between Kingshighway Blvd. and I-170 is closed and will
re-open in December 2009. Construction updates are available at

Special
Collections contains library holdings of the
St. Louis Genealogical Society and the
National Genealogical Society in
addition to the genealogical and local history materials of the St. Louis County Library.

Tours

Tours of Special Collections
are offered at 10:30 a.m. on the 1st Wednesday and 3rd Saturday of each month.
Come to the Reference Desk in the department. No reservations are needed. Since
the tour includes two other floors, an elevator is available if needed.

Missouri State Archives Death Certificate Database
is now online and consists of over two
million individual death certificates.

of Special Collections.
These ongoing
indexing projects cover records such as
church, naturalization, birth, newspaper, and Missouri's U.S.

A wide range of information for genealogists is
available through online databases accessible
in Special Collections and at all
St. Louis County Library branches. When available, REMOTE ACCESS requires a valid St. Louis County
Library card and residence within
the St. Louis Metropolitan Statistical
Area.

The research guidelines and procedures explain what can be requested and where to send for copies. Searches are restricted to paper sources
with the exception of microfilmed obituary and indexed microfilm
records listed on this page. The St. Louis Genealogical Society will search additional sources, including microfilm. See their
